In the College of Arts & Sciences, our faculty are your guides. As the experts who teach your courses and design your curriculum, they're uniquely positioned to help you navigate your academic journey.

Your Path, Your Choices

  • Undecided? Explore the College of Arts and Sciences diverse majors. Expect challenging, engaging courses from expert faculty. Keep an open mind and discuss interests with your advisor.
  • Have a Plan? Great! Start your major. But stay flexible. Most students change majors. Explore options to broaden your horizons.
  • Own Your Education: You drive your academic journey. Advisors guide, but you decide. Learn requirements, deadlines, and make timely choices.
  • Advisor Expectations: Think faculty mentor, not high school counselor. They'll help you navigate options and consequences, but you'll solve your own problems.
  • Maximize Advising: Be informed, proactive, and realistic. Use email for initial contact. Explore our FAQs. Understand online registration. Build a resource network: instructors, career services, and department staff.
  • Mentor to Major Advisor: New students are assigned a non-major advisor, called the Mentor Advisor. Once you declare a major, then you are assigned a faculty member advisor in your major program.
